Civita breakfast Wednesday May 8th  8.00 -9.00 am

In the modern era, capitalism has created unprecedented wealth, raising the living standards of billions, both in the West and the rest of the world. Yet, many people question the future of the economic system. Growth is slow, and the benefits are unevenly distributed. Has capitalism failed, or is today’s economic system still our best hope for creating opportunities for all?

Sir Paul Collier is Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government and a Professorial Fellow of St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. He was the Director of the Research Development Department of the World Bank from 1998-2003. Sir Collier has written for the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. His latest book, The Future of Capitalism: Facing The New Anxieties, was published in 2018.

A Q&A session will follow after the introduction.

Doors open and breakfast will be available from 7.30 am.

This breakfast meeting is hosted in cooperation with The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO).

The meeting will take place at Restaurant Christiania, Nedre Vollgt. 19. Entrance via Stortingsgaten.
