The 2nd of November marked 100 years to the Balfour declaration. The declaration was a turning point in the history of the Jewish national movement; Zionism.

In the contemporary debate, anti-Zionists argue that the Jewish national movement is a racist ideology and a colonial enterprise. Is this legitimate criticism against the existence of Israel?

The former Israeli minister Yossi Beilin was a key figure during the Oslo process, and argues that the two-state solution with the establishment of a Palestinian state, is the only viable solution in order to ensure the existence of a Jewish and democratic state.

The panelists are: Dr. Yossi Beilin, former Minister of Justice and Minister of Religious Affairs in the Israeli government, Vibeke Kieding Banik, historian and Associate Professor at the University College of Southeast Norway, Marte Heian-Engdal, historian and senior adviser at the Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution.

Moderator: Bjørn Gabrielsen, journalist in Dagens Næringsliv.
